There have been a few times that they haven't had things that I was looking for, but it's generally something obscure and they're always happy to order it.Īs far as ingredients, the only thing that I've found slightly lacking is the specialty grains. Lots of kegging fittings and odds and ends that can be hard to find at some HB shops. They have a good selection of ingredients as well as equipment. The inside of the shop is pretty cramped, but it's fairly well organized and the selection is pretty good (and there's beer on tap!). When I moved to Leominster 3 years ago, I was ecstatic that there was a homebrew shop right in town, but when I went looking for it, I thought there was a mistake until I saw the sign out in front of the house in a residential area. This is a nice little homebrew shop in downtown Leominster. While I like White Labs liquid yeast as well, sometimes it's nice to make a batch without doing a starter.Īll in all they are an absolute pleasure to do business with and make you feel like a valued customer regardless of if it's your first time there or your a regular. My only gripe is that they do not stock Wyeast Smack Packs. Their prices on hops and grain are among the best that I've found in any store in MA. They have always been happy to mill my grain regardless of how busy they are. Their ingredients are always fresh and well organized. They stock a full selection of home brewing supplies including Mini-Brew, Polarware, and True Brew kits. While their hours are a little quirky, once you get used to them you will make your schedule work to do business with them. They are a full blown homebrew shop with a knowledgeable staff and excellent ingredients and supplies. Don't let their "home" appearance fool you. Located just outside of Leominister center, they are very convenient for anyone living off Route 2. NFG is my go-to home brew supply shop in Massachusetts.
